Nationwide Roblox Litigation Lawyers: Fighting for Families Harmed by the Platform

Roblox, an online gaming platform that supposedly fosters creativity and connection among children and teens, harbors a darker underbelly that has harmed countless young users for years. Families nationwide are coming forward with stories of how predators, explicit content, and exploitation pervade this digital playground. The attorneys at Anapol Weiss have filed 29 lawsuits against Roblox on behalf of children from various parts of the U.S. who were sexually exploited on the Roblox platform. Anapol Weiss is investigating hundreds of similar cases and will file many more lawsuits in the coming months.

Alexandra Walsh, Kristen Gibbons Feden, Pat Huyett and Kristen Varallo are spearheading our efforts to hold Roblox and related companies accountable, bringing extensive experience to this high-stakes litigation. We are demanding justice for our clients and seeking to hold Roblox and other companies accountable.

Lawsuits Filed Against Roblox on Behalf of Kids

Kentucky Girl – In October 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, on behalf of a Boone County minor. The complaint alleges that a 13-year-old girl died by suicide after being exposed, groomed, and influenced by violent extremist communities on the gaming platform Roblox and the messaging app Discord.

Illinois Girl – In October 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, Northern District of California, on behalf of a Cook County minor. The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, a minor, was groomed by a predator on the gaming platform, Roblox. The predator sent sexually explicit photos and coerced the girl to leave her home and travel to a local motel, where several predators sexually assaulted her.

Florida Girl – In October 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, Northern District of California, on behalf of a Brevard County minor. The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, a minor, was groomed by an adult predator on Roblox’s platform, coerced into sending sexually explicit images and videos of herself, while also receiving explicit videos from several predators.

San Diego Boy – In September 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Francisco. The complaint alleges that the Plaintiff’s son, a 15-year-old boy, committed suicide as a result of years of grooming and exploitation by a predator posing as a peer. The predator contacted the boy on Roblox, then moved the conversation to Discord, where he forced the boy to provide explicit photographs under threat.

California Girl – In August 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Mateo, on behalf of a California minor. The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, a 10-year-old girl, was groomed on Roblox by an adult predator posing as a peer. The conversation moved to Discord, where the predator convinced the girl to share her home address. She was abducted from her home and eventually found 400 miles away in the predator’s vehicle.

Alabama Girl – In July 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, Northern District of California, on behalf of an Alabama minor. The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, a 14-year-old girl, was groomed on Roblox by an adult predator claiming to be a peer. The conversation moved to Discord, another platform that markets itself as kid-friendly, where the predator repeatedly sent sexually explicit messages and photographs. The girl was eventually lured from her home in Covington, Alabama, where the predator attempted to sexually assault her.

Indiana Girl – In May 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of California, County of San Mateo, on behalf of Jane Doe, an Indiana minor. The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, a 16-year-old girl, was groomed by an adult predator on Roblox’s platform, coerced into sharing sexually explicit images, and ultimately lured from her home in Indiana to Georgia, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted.

Florida Girl – In April 2025, Anapol Weiss and co-counsel filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, on behalf of a Florida minor who was sexually exploited on the platforms Roblox and Discord. As our attorneys established in the complaint, the underage girl for whom attorneys are seeking financial compensation was first groomed by predators she met online on Roblox and subsequently coerced into sharing explicit content through Discord.

Texas Girl – In April 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit in federal court in the Southern District of Texas, on behalf of Jane Doe, a Texas minor. The complaint alleges that predators exploited and groomed her, coerced her into sending explicit images, and ultimately assaulted her in person, an attack that was recorded by the perpetrator.

New Jersey Boy – In February 2025, Anapol Weiss filed a lawsuit seeking to hold Roblox and the communications platform Discord directly accountable for child sexual exploitation that occurs on these platforms. In the case Doe v. Roblox Corp., Discord Inc., a 13-year-old boy was contacted by a serial predator—who had already been charged with sexually exploiting another child—and coerced into sharing sexually explicit content, giving the man his address, and agreeing to meet in person (which fortunately did not ultimately happen). This legal action follows a 2023 class action lawsuit filed by Walsh on behalf of parents who bought Roblox’s in-game currency “Robux” for their children based on misrepresentations about platform safety.

Our Roblox litigation lawyers—including Walsh and Feden, and trial attorney Pat Huyett—are actively investigating additional cases of child sexual exploitation on these platforms. As leading legal advocates with an unrivaled commitment to fighting for victims of abuse and exploitation, we’re committed to standing up for those harmed by online platforms’ safety failures and ensuring that justice is served.

How Roblox Put Children at Risk

For years, Roblox allowed harmful behaviors to proliferate on its platform. Recent safety updates, introduced in November 2024, came only after years of harrowing incidents and public outcry. While these changes mark progress, they are woefully insufficient and leave a haunting question: How many young lives were irreparably damaged while Roblox delayed action?

The Hidden Dangers of Roblox

Roblox’s expansive and unsupervised ecosystem created an environment where predators and harmful content thrived and continue to thrive. Key risks include:

  • Exploitation by Predators: Grooming, coercion, and exploitation occurred through in-game chats and private messages.
  • Inappropriate User-Generated Content: Violent and sexually explicit games disguised as safe entertainment expose children to harmful material..
  • Financial Exploitation: Children were pressured into spending real money on virtual items, sometimes leading to unauthorized transactions.

Delayed Safety Features: Too Little, Too Late

In November 2024, Roblox introduced new safety features in response to mounting criticism and reports like the Hindenburg Report, which accused the company of neglecting safety while prioritizing user growth and profits. These features include:

  • Stronger Parental Controls: Remote account management, time limits, and activity approvals.
  • Restricted Communication: Prohibiting direct messages for children under 13 unless approved by parents.
  • Content Ratings: Games categorized by intensity, with restrictions for younger users.
  • Activity Limitations: Banning features with free-form writing or drawing for users under 13.

While these updates are a step forward, they not only are insufficient but come after years of harm inflicted on vulnerable users.

The Human Toll of Roblox’s Negligence

The consequences of Roblox’s lax safety measures have been devastating. Families recount stories of:

  • Emotional and Psychological Harm: Anxiety, depression, and trauma stemming from predatory interactions and exposure to explicit content.
  • Exploitation and Grooming: Predators using the platform to lure children into private communication channels, sometimes leading to real-world danger.
  • Financial Strain: Families burdened by unauthorized in-game spending driven by manipulative monetization tactics.

The Hindenburg Report revealed chilling examples of these harms, painting a grim picture of a platform that allowed exploitation to thrive under the guise of creative play.

Why Roblox Must Be Held Accountable

Roblox’s failure to act sooner underscores a troubling prioritization of profits over safety. By allowing an unsafe environment to persist for years, the platform betrayed the trust of parents and children. Families are demanding accountability for:

  • Negligence: Failing to protect children from foreseeable risks.
  • Product Liability: Maintaining a platform with harmful features.
  • Emotional Distress: Enabling conditions that led to significant harm.
  • Consumer Fraud: Misleading families about the platform’s safety.
